Celebrating the spirit of those who peopled the plains.....
Children of the Prairie A project focusing on our cultural heritage and family roots
The legacy of the pioneers and settlers who peopled the plains is a rich and vibrant story, full of struggles and sacrifice
by determined and rugged individuals. In order to recognize these important people from our past, PHAA is beginning
Phase I of a project aimed at eventually creating a permanent memorial to those who settled the Eastern Plains of Colorado.
Collecting and copying heirloom photos of children will be completed during the spring of 2008 with a public display to be
unveiled in the summer of 2008.
Those who lived on and settled the Plains are all "Children of
the Prairie."
This project is made possible, in part, by a Small Steps Grant from the Colorado Council on
the Arts. www.coloarts.org
